The Sorcerer's Pouch: A new fantasy jewellery collection of handmade potion bottle pendants
Share
I designed this collection during a heatwave, which sounds wrong, I know.
Potion bottles and sorcerer's pouches are the kind of magic that lives in autumn and not what you expect to arrive in the middle of August, when it's too hot to think.
But the heart wants what the heart wants. For me it was a late-summer longing for cosiness with shorter days and firelight and the feeling that the world is pulling inward again.
This idea came from a very specific image I couldn't shake of a sorcerer mid-journey, reaching into their pouch not for a weapon but for something small that would change the course of events.
A potion in a moment they needed it most, maybe to see what others couldn't or to move unseen, be just a little bit faster than whatever horror was coming.
Not dramatic magic, but Practical magic that gives you the extra edge!
Seven mini pieces with its own small power, your very own ‘potion’ you actually get to keep.
The Collection
Elixir of True Sight:

Blue-green Coober Pedy opal doublet that shifts and flashes depending on the light. For the moments you need to see clearly when everything around you is trying to obscure the truth.
Vial of Invisibility:
Cool and narrow, a light blue Coober Pedy opal doublet nestled in a tall apothecary bottle. For moving through rooms unnoticed and observing without being observed.
Potion of the Unseen:

The only piece in the collection with no stone at all, just silver, textured and smokey and a little haunting. Sometimes the most powerful thing is what isn't there.
Vial of Courage:

Small and compact, deep cobalt blue Coober Pedy opal doublet but don't let the size fool you. The best courage usually comes in the smallest doses.
Elixir of the Moon:

Moonstone in a classic bottle silhouette, that dreamy blue flash sitting quiet against the silver. For second sight and trusting what you feel before you can explain it.
Potion of Charm:

The most vivid of the collection, a bold blue-green Coober Pedy opal doublet with a decorated stopper. For the conversations you need to go your way.
Vial of Swiftness:

The smallest piece, a leaf-shaped bottle with a tiny precise Coober Pedy opal doublet. For the moments when you need to be just a little bit faster and a little bit sharper than whoever's in your way.
The collection is extremely limited with just seven designs, each one made by hand in sterling silver. Some of the stones are one of a kind, which means once they're gone, that particular magic goes with them.
There's something about designing with a clear fictional logic like what does this potion do, and how does the bottle reflect that that freed me up in a way I didn't expect.
I hope you find the one that's yours.
