Behind the Scenes: The Heart and Soul of My Jewelry Studio (Part 1)
Welcome to the magical enclave where my jewellery studio lives, a realm woven with threads of creativity. I am excited for you to step into my studio and discover the creative sanctuary where all the magic happens.
THE STUDIO TOUR
My studio is located in my back garden amongst the fruit trees and nestled beside my house. It’s a small but cozy space, about 5m x 3m or 150 square feet in size.
One of the first things you will notice is the three benches. The one in the centre is my main bench, where I hammer, form, and solder all of the pieces together.
You can see my overhead cameras here. I stream my work live on Twitch each week so people can watch their orders being made.
On the left is my design table, where I lay out all of my work to be made. I also play with gems, design, sketch, and watch tutorials on my PC!
On the right, I have a mixture of my heavy-duty tools, like the amazing JoolTool and pendant drill, but also storage for everything and anything!
And now, to my favorite part: we have the cutest mini kitchen in the back!
Can you guess what I keep in the fridge?
PERSONAL TOUCHES
I am slowly curating the space, focusing on making it feel like The Elven Smith works here! I have the metal deer silhouette for woodland inspiration, the E on the wall for Elise, and a couple of lights—the rainbow at the back to remind me to turn off my plugs when I leave.
I love changing the scent of my room based on how I feel; candles are a staple in my world. Tucked next to the candles, the little jade turtle on my windowsill keeps me company and is an old Chinese superstition for good business.
MY VISION
My studio is a bit chaotic and overwhelming, which honestly feels like me in real life! I know aesthetics are in, and I also appreciate the beauty found in everyday life.
I am slowly putting together my studio to be organized and full of colour. I think colour is essential in bringing positive energy into my day, and I surround myself with it when I make your pieces. My studio is more than just a workspace; it’s my space—and a safe, cozy one!
